busy weekend...

We had a very busy weekend... mostly busy staying out of our house! The before mentioned 'amazing gift' from Tom is presently making us not want to spend much time at home. Trying to focus on the big picture..and how much I will love the new floors when they are finished..Im going to try not to comment about their current state and just recap our weekend instead. On Friday night, after helping Kennedy pack for a long awaited visit with her father, we loaded everyone up and made our way to the Cardwell's. Our visit with them was much overdue. We got to hang out with the Minchey's and Kanuth's as well. Ava was sleeping when we arrived so we did not get to spend any time enjoying her but we did get to see her...at least. So PRETTY...growing so much..and even growing a little hair!!! Elle, on the other hand, was wide awake (for a little while) she and Korb were passed around from person to person. When she finally decided to call it a night Korb gave her a hug. It was adorable but she did not like to too much. I guess her daddy has already been teaching her to stay away from the boys. It was so nice just to sit around and visit with the girls. I think there was also a Szabo sighting... We made our way back to the dust bowl around midnight. We did not sit in the truck and hangout to avoid the mess like the weekend before.. We actually just held our breath, ran to our room and went to bed like normal people.
On Saturday, Kennedy and I got up very early..for a saturday. We finished her packing and made our way to Wichita Falls to meet her Granny. Of course, we were a bit late. Story of my life. Not sure how it always happens. Ive tried to work on it.. but I think its just part of my DNA. Im sure my mother & father would argue that...maybe that gene skipped a generation. Regardless, when the first task of the day runs late, your entire day runs late. I was supposed to be back..dressed..baby off to the sitter..and sitting on a patio for a couples date at 430pm. That did not happen. We took Korb to my friend Becky's and finally made it to the patio to meet our friends at 615pm. Not too bad, right? Needless to say it took Kyle a few margaritas to shake off the bad mood I had created...he did recover and we had an awesome evening together. We went to the IMAX to see 300. It was Kyle's first trip to an IMAX theatre. I tried to tell him that its just louder than a normal theatre..I guess thats just a girls opinion. We spent the evening with the Cusano's, Minchey's, 'Meyers', and 'Lavenders'.. The movie was ok. Of course the boys enjoyed it more than the girls. Jenn fell asleep even though Mark said it was better than The Matrix ...???? When it was over we went back to the OTB patio for awhile... It was really a lot of fun. But... the night did not end there for us. Remember the motto for the weekend. AS MUCH TIME OUT OF OUR HOUSE AS POSSIBLE... So, we headed downtown. The Minchey's came with and the good times continued. Its amazing how many people we ran into that we know. Seriously like 15. Crazy. I guess people do still go out...
After getting home around 4 (time change, who knew) I got up at 8 to pick Korb up from Becky's. And then it was back to AS MUCH TIME OUT OF OUR HOUSE AS POSSIBLE.. after lunch and shopping we went to visit the newest baby in our group of friends. Kason Brady Parker. We hung out with Kevin and Sarah until 8pm. It was so nice out. We spent a lot of time on their patio swapping baby stories. When we left we took Korbin to Snuffers to watch the Mavs beat up on the Lakers..and finally the weekend came to a close around 11pm on Sunday.

Sometimes its just nice to enjoy good friends....
