Team Palmer take 3.

After one or two false starts
I believe we found our stride
And the walls that won’t come down
We can decorate or climb
Or find some way to get around
Cause I’m still on your side
From the bottom of my heart
-Jimmy Buffett

That guy has been writing the lyrics to my life for a long long time so while everything feels new and different I guess not much has actually changed in 2018.

The last five or six years feel like a whirlwind. The details of which are sorted and complicated and ugly and beautiful and telling and emotional. Lots of love and lots of hate. But all in all, the truth is that it’s our life. The only one we know. And while lots of it hurts to look at, I wouldn’t change much. It all happened for a reason. And it all has a place in our story. I’m not sure I’m going to tell it all here but that’s not because I’m brushing it off or covering it up. Just moving on. Focused on the future for everyone. And I have to tell you. It feels good!

This time four years ago I was signing the lease on my own apartment and starting a new chapter in life. One hundred percent done with life as I knew it. Today KP and I put our wedding rings back on. Perspective is a crazy thing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices in the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always prevails. Love never fails.
-1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Thank you, God, for loving us through all of this. Thank you for friends who love with out fail the way you do. Who knows where we would have ended up with out you giving us those. Thank you for all the people we met and loved along the way. They are very much apart of our story. Thank you for the lessons you have taught us. Thank you for simple, thoughtful advice. Thank you for the change you have brought to our home. Thank you for our priceless relationships with our families and the examples they provide. If only we would just follow their lead and not forge our own paths. Thank you for our health. Thank you for our children. And thank you for second (or third) chances. We are committed to staying thankful and accountable and transparent and PRESENT.

Here’s to the next 15 years. May they be blessed and not nearly as adventurous. ;)
